Students receiving GCSE, A-level, T-level or other exam results can get free post-exam careers support at Wolverhampton’s Civic Centre from Tuesday 18 August until Monday 7 September 2026. Connexions careers advisers will run drop-in sessions every weekday from 12pm to 2pm.
The service is intended particularly for young people who have not secured a place in education, employment or training for September. Organised by the City of Wolverhampton Council, the sessions offer impartial information, advice and guidance without the need for a stated advance booking.
Dates, venue and entry details
- Dates: Tuesday 18 August to Monday 7 September 2026
- Times: 12pm to 2pm every weekday
- Venue: Civic Centre, Wolverhampton
- Cost: Free
- Entry: Drop-in session
- Who can attend: Young people receiving GCSE, A-level, T-level or other results
The weekday schedule gives students several opportunities to seek advice after collecting their results, rather than limiting support to results day itself. Students can attend when they know whether they still need help securing a destination for September.
The City of Wolverhampton Council’s announcement does not provide transport or accessibility information. Anyone who needs to confirm those arrangements should contact Connexions before travelling.

Advisers will visit five schools on GCSE results day
Connexions advisers will also be present at five Wolverhampton schools on Thursday 20 August, when GCSE results are released: Our Lady of St Chads Academy, Smestow Academy, Moseley Park Academy, Vireo Academy and Kairos Academy.
Information and guidance resources are being supplied to other schools across the city. Students who do not attend one of the five named schools can therefore ask their school about the available materials or use the Civic Centre drop-in service.
Help with apprenticeships, college and training
The Civic Centre sessions will cover careers education and planning as well as the immediate choices students may face after receiving their grades. Advisers can help young people search and apply for apprenticeships, sign up with colleges or training providers, and consider routes into further education, work or training.

Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said support is available whatever a student’s results. She encouraged young people to discuss their options rather than feeling that they must make decisions alone.
That makes the sessions relevant both to students who are unsure which route to choose and those who had a plan but have not yet confirmed a place for September.
How students and parents can contact Connexions
Students and parents who cannot attend the Civic Centre sessions can email [email protected] or call 01902 554499. Connexions also holds a regular Monday-afternoon drop-in at i10 Unit 5, Victoria Square, Wolverhampton, although the council notice does not specify its exact hours.
The time-limited Civic Centre service remains available from noon to 2pm each weekday through Monday 7 September for young people who still need help identifying or securing their next destination.
