Free Lewisham results-day advice session on 20 August

Lewisham students receiving A-level or BTEC results can get free, impartial advice at the Civic Suite on Thursday 20 August 2026, from 10am to 2pm. The Baseline post-results day event is for young people who want to discuss their education, training and career options, according to Lewisham Council.

The face-to-face session comes as students confirm existing plans or consider a different route after receiving their results. Support is available whether their grades matched their expectations or prompted them to reconsider what comes next.

What students can discuss with the Baseline team

Baseline provides impartial advice about education, training and careers. At the Civic Suite, students can talk through options including university, apprenticeships, further education, training and employment.

Those possibilities cover both continued study and routes into work, making the event relevant to students who already have a preferred next step as well as those still weighing several choices. The session also gives young people an opportunity to speak to the team in person rather than relying solely on written information.

Students can seek support through more than one route. The council says they may speak to their school or college or contact Baseline for advice. Young people elsewhere are navigating similar decisions, including students considering their next move after results in Bournemouth.

Support is available whatever the results

Lewisham Council described results day as a moment that can bring a mix of emotions. Rotimi Skyers, the borough’s Cabinet Member for Children, SEND, Youth Empowerment and Culture, congratulated students and acknowledged the contribution of teachers, school staff, families and friends.

He also addressed students who did not receive the grades they had hoped for, stressing that one set of results does not define their future and that help is available to explore other options. The Baseline event is the council’s confirmed in-person opportunity for students to have that conversation after results day.

Check entry and access details before attending

The council notice confirms that the session is free but does not say whether advance booking is required. It also provides no street address, transport guidance or accessibility information beyond naming the Civic Suite in Lewisham. Students who need entry, location or access details should email the Baseline team before travelling. Further information is available through the Lewisham Council announcement.
