West Northamptonshire residents: Have your say on adult care services

West Northamptonshire residents, service users, families, carers and staff can share their views on the future of several council-run adult social care services before the consultation closes at midnight on Wednesday, 9 September 2026.

The consultation is free to take part in and is available online through West Northamptonshire Council’s Consultations webpage. It is aimed at anyone with an interest in the services, particularly people who use them and those close to them.

Which West Northamptonshire services are included

The 12-week consultation concerns the future of the council’s in-house adult social care provision. The services being considered include residential care at Obelisk House and Southfields, supported living at Eleanor Lodge, the council’s home care service, and day services at Gladstone Road, Olympus House, Towcester Forum, Longlands in Daventry and The Cottages.

The council is reviewing both how these services are delivered and whether the buildings they operate from are meeting people’s needs now and in the years ahead. Its stated aim is to ensure services remain safe, high-quality and able to support people to live as independently as possible as demand grows and needs become more complex.

What your response can help shape

The survey is an opportunity to set out what works well in the current services, what could be improved and what matters most for future care delivery. That may be particularly relevant for people directly using residential care, supported living, day services or home care, as well as relatives, carers and staff with experience of how the services operate.

West Northamptonshire Council says a range of potential options and ideas are being explored, but that no decisions have been made. The consultation is therefore the point at which residents and people connected to the services can contribute before plans are finalised.

Councillor Laura Couse, the council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Public Health, said the authority wants to hear from as many people as possible so that the plans reflect residents’ needs.
