Hull music memories could win The Phantoms tickets

Hull residents have until Monday 14 September to complete the Hull Music Survey for a chance to win two tickets to The Phantoms (Starring Lee Mead) at Hull City Hall on 25 September. Every completed response is automatically entered into the prize draw, so there is no separate competition form.

The prize is two tickets rather than a general free-entry offer. Hull City Council’s notice does not give a performance start time, standard ticket price or general booking details. Accessibility, audience conditions and transport guidance are also not supplied, so anyone planning around the concert will need to confirm those arrangements separately.

The concert and ticket offer

The Phantoms, starring Lee Mead, will appear at Hull City Hall on 25 September. One survey participant will receive two tickets through the draw. Entry depends only on completing the Hull Music Survey by the stated deadline; residents do not need to submit an additional prize entry.

Survey responses will support Hull’s UNESCO bid

The questionnaire asks residents to share their thoughts, memories and experiences of Hull’s music offer. Their responses will help shape the city’s bid for UNESCO Creative City of Music status, which is expected to be submitted in spring 2027.

The designation is awarded to cities that can demonstrate a rich musical heritage, a thriving contemporary scene and a commitment to integrating music into sustainable urban development. It would also connect Hull with an international platform for cultural, economic and social collaboration.

Councillor Jackie Dad, Hull City Council’s portfolio holder for culture and leisure, said residents’ contributions would help the city develop the strongest possible case for its application.

Memories and memorabilia could feature in 2028

Responses will also inform a planned Hull Music Exhibition in 2028. The council is seeking personal memories as well as physical material connected with the city’s musical past and present, including photographs, paintings, clothing, badges, posters, programmes, ticket stubs and autographs.

Instruments, souvenirs and other mementos could also be considered. The survey therefore has two purposes: recording how residents experience music in Hull and identifying stories or objects that could help represent the city’s musical history in the exhibition.

How to enter before the deadline

Residents should complete the Hull Music Survey through the link in the original Hull City Council News notice by Monday 14 September. All completed surveys received by then will be entered into the draw for the two tickets to the 25 September concert.
