Free BSL evenings in Paisley begin on 2 September

Free British Sign Language community sessions will begin at 6pm on Wednesday 2 September 2026 at The Kiln Creative Learning Hub, 8 Seedhill Road, Paisley, PA1 1JT. The programme is free and is being run by West of Scotland BSL with support from Renfrewshire Council.

The BSL Sign Club & Café is open to Deaf people, BSL learners, families and anyone curious about BSL and Deaf culture. A separate creative workshop is available to people aged 18 and over, although places must be booked.

Two ways to take part at The Kiln

The BSL Sign Club & Café runs from 6pm to 9pm. It is designed as a welcoming place where people can meet, sign and connect, with no previous BSL experience required. Visitors do not need to book for the club.

The BSL Storytelling and Poetry Workshop takes a more structured approach. Led by profoundly Deaf BSL tutor Graham Dow, it is a six-session programme in which adults can explore storytelling and poetry through BSL.

Workshop sessions run from 6pm to 7pm. Participants then have the option of joining the Sign Club & Café afterwards.
