Elmbridge Together Fun Run comes to Walton on 20 September

Residents of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in the Elmbridge Together Fun Run at Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub in Walton-on-Thames on Sunday 20 September 2026. The children’s 2km event begins at 2.30pm, followed by a 5km riverside run, jog or walk at 3pm.

Registration is open through the event information published by Elmbridge Borough Council. An entry price has not been specified, while participants are encouraged to seek sponsorship. Profits will support Elmbridge CAN and The Mayor of Elmbridge Trust Fund.

Choose between the children’s event and the 5km route

The programme offers two distances designed for different participants. Children have a dedicated 2km event starting at 2.30pm. The main 5km event begins half an hour later and can be completed as a run, jog or walk, allowing residents to participate at different paces.

Mayor of Elmbridge Councillor Judy Sarsby is hosting the event and has invited people from across the borough to join with family and friends. She described it as an opportunity to celebrate Elmbridge’s unity, community spirit and sense of belonging as the borough approaches its final year in its current form.

How sponsorship and donations will work

Participants are encouraged to ask friends, relatives, neighbours and colleagues to sponsor them. A JustGiving campaign has been established for the fun run, where registered participants can create individual sponsorship pages.

People who do not intend to complete either distance can still support the fundraising campaign by making a direct donation. All event profits will be divided between the mayor’s two chosen causes, Elmbridge CAN and The Mayor of Elmbridge Trust Fund, which support local people and communities.
