Brentwood Job Fair Returns: How to Secure a Free Recruitment Stand

Local residents seeking new career paths and businesses looking to bolster their workforce will gather at the Brentwood Centre on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, for the annual Jobs, Skills & Volunteering Event. Running from 11:00 to 15:00, the fair serves as a central hub for connecting the borough’s employers, training providers, and volunteering organisations with the local community.

Hosted by Brentwood Borough Council in partnership with Brentwood Jobcentre Plus and the Brentwood Community and Voluntary Service, the event is designed to be accessible to a wide demographic. Organisers are inviting attendees aged 16 to 50+ to explore a variety of opportunities, whether they are looking for their first job, a career change, or a chance to give back through volunteering.

Targeted Support for Young Jobseekers

A significant addition to this year’s programme is the introduction of a dedicated area specifically for NEETs—young people aged 18 to 24 who are not currently in education, employment, or training. By creating this focused space, the council aims to lower the barriers that often prevent young people from entering the workforce. This area will provide tailored guidance and direct access to learning and employment pathways, ensuring that attendees have the support necessary to navigate their next steps.

Opportunities for Local Employers

For businesses and organisations, the event offers a high-traffic environment to engage with hundreds of potential candidates. Councillor David Kendall, Chair of the Finance and Future Development Committee at Brentwood Borough Council, highlighted the value of this face-to-face interaction. He noted that the event is not only for those looking to fill immediate vacancies but also for organisations aiming to raise awareness of their services or connect with the community on a broader scale.

“Every year, this event helps bring local opportunities directly to residents,” Councillor Kendall said. “We encourage organisations from across Brentwood to take advantage of a free stand and showcase everything they have to offer.”

Event Participation and Logistics

The event is open to a broad range of exhibitors, including those focused on health and wellbeing, skills development, and employability support. To facilitate maximum participation, Brentwood Borough Council is offering exhibitor stands free of charge to businesses and organisations.

If you are a business or organisation interested in reserving a free stand, or if you require further information regarding the event setup, you should contact the organisers directly via email at [email protected]. Attendees are encouraged to arrive during the scheduled hours of 11:00 to 15:00 to ensure they have sufficient time to engage with the various exhibitors and support services present at the Brentwood Centre.
